Ce DGLP est capable de roder des pierres jusqu'à 30 microns (grain 500 ou plus). Il ne doit pas être utilisé sur des pierres plus rugueuses, car cela réduirait considérablement sa durée de vie.

La plupart des utilisateurs trouvent les capacités du DGLP de Shapton étonnantes. La coupe la plus nette est née lorsque deux avions en acier se croisent à un angle aigu. Pourtant, chaque fois qu'une lame est affûtée sur une pierre à aiguiser, la pierre elle-même change de forme, donc avec le temps, les plans au bord de la lame changent également. C'est pourquoi il est si important de garder la pierre à aiguiser plate. Appliquez le DGLP et vous apprécierez l'affûtage comme jamais auparavant. Le DGLP utilise du verre pour sa base, et c'est ce qui produit une telle précision sur le plan de pierre à aiguiser résultant.

After using this exceptional product now on several stones that range in grit from 1,000 to 16,000 I’ve realized another benefit. If you have the heavy Shapton Stone Holder which is absolutely fantastic, this plate is designed to work in conjunction with that holder. It fits over it perfectly and is locked securely in place. Brilliant design for sure.
I’ve been debating on whether to buy this flattener for many years and I’ve finally pulled the trigger. My initial thoughts were “ I shouldn’t have waited”. I’ve been using Atoma plates for flattening for a decade. This DGLP is absolutely exceptional and I can’t recommend it highly enough. As a sharpener who flattens water stones daily and roughly every five minutes this product is just what I needed and I needed it years ago. It’s extremely well made and it’s pretty cool. There is no sticking of the plate to the stones at all. My recommendation is to use it on 1,000 grit stones and finer and use another flattener for your coarse stones. Also keep it clean, rinse it off after use and also flip the plate from end to end between stones to ensure even wear. I’m blown away by this product and of course the incredibly efficient service. I’m a happy sharpener.
i usually use atoma stones, but this lapping plate is much better
Works very well for flattening my water stones, the deep grooves carry the slurry away and it rinses clean easily. The best lapping stone Ive used.
