This all-purpose knife has taken the world by storm. It is considered a home cooking knife in Japan, where it is used for everyday cooking. Slightly shorter and with a straighter edge than our usual 8" European-style knives, it is very easy and comfortable to use. Great for the most common everyday home cooking tasks like chopping and dicing onions, garlic, ginger, veggies, small meat/chicken, etc. I've used a santoku at home for years (in addition to a good 8" chef knife). It's great for veggies!
