An excellent choice for home or professional use. Comfortable and good-looking pakkawood handle, so it has the look and feel of wood (it's made of wood fibre after all) but is stabilized so it's tougher and more water resistant than a normal wooden knife handle. Good quality stainless steel, and the blade is nicely finished and very sharp. This is a great made-in-Japan knife for the ridiculously low price!! It's tough and won't be finicky to maintain or fragile.
Sharpened 50/50 for fine for right or left hand use.
We recommend the fine Idahone ceramic hone for everyday use. Use it regularly (BEFORE the knife gets noticeably dull) and you can go quite a while before having to do a full sharpening with stones.
As always, NO DISHWASHER. Wash by hand, dry and store in a knife block or other dedicated knife storage solution. No soaking or leaving it in a wet sink or on a wet cutting board (as with any knife you care about please).
