Features a good mid-sized 10cm Slim Line (Effilé) style blade and natural wood handle. Stainless steel blade for easy maintenance and no worries about rust or discolouration. The blade folds into the handle and features the simple and effective "Virobloc" Opinel blade locking device, to lock the blade safely and securely in the open or closed position.
Opinel uses high quality Sandvik 12C27 modified stainless steel. It is anti-corrosive thanks to the addition of chrome and requires no special maintenance. Its carbon content of at least 0.40% gives excellent cutting edge. Blade hardness approx. 57-58 HRC. Flexible and thin, the blade is carefully sharpened on a diamond wheel to get a razor-sharp cut.
Beech is the most commonly used wood for the manufacture of Opinel handles. From France, the beech used is hard, durable and easy to work. With a homogeneous appearance, its light colour varies from yellow to pink. It is characterized by the presence of numerous small dark dashes.
