Naniwa Super Stone Super-Fine 10,000 Grit Japanese Whetstone Sharpening Stone, NO Stand, 21cm x 7cm surface (8.25"x2.75"), 2cm thick.
This super-fine stone is used for giving a knife a final polished edge. It is one of the finest stones available anywhere. Recommended for final finish of fine Japanese knives like the Misono UX10 knives.
Note: these are the new (for 2015) "Sharpening Stone" series from Naniwa which replace the old "Super Stones". They have different packaging, but the stones themselves look and feel identical, and are the same size as the old Super Stones. The packaging you receive might say Super Stone (gray box as pictured) or it might say Sharpening Stone (orange box)... they are the same stones so don't worry! They are still very much high end stones, but are one step down from the top of the line Chosera (now rebranded "Professional Stones") which use a different bonding method for a somewhat nicer feel and faster cut, but at the expense of higher prices and increased fragility. I use the SuperStone/Sharpening Stone series at home and they're great.
Also: This is a full 2cm thick stone. It has been brought to our attention that other vendors are importing the cheaper 1cm thick version and then not always specifying the thickness on their web sites. Those stones are cheaper, and being half as thick will be more prone to breaking and will not last nearly as long as these normal full-thickness stones! We do NOT and have never imported or sold those cheaper 1cm thick versions of these stones.
Warranty: One-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
