I just wanted to tell you that I received my V-slicer and I am very happy with the product. A little history. I received a V-slicer, which if I remember correctly it was called a slicer-dicer, in the year 1975 as a wedding gift. I was my most priced possession. I used it on a regular basis. I must add the blades to this day have never dulled. My first slicer has now been handed down to daughter as she used it as often as I did. I can only hope that my new V-slicer will last half as long. I must admit you are the only one that sells that slicer and I could only go online to find it by it's name on my slicer. I just wanted to say thank you again.

Wusthof doesn't offer nice sets with the best-selling Classic Granton Edge Santoku (the knife I use at home most of the time), so I made one myself! This includes the fantastic Classic #4183-17 7" granton edge santoku; the #4150-23 Classic 9" bread knife (most sets only come with the 8" bread knife, I find the 9" much better); the matching granton edge Classic #4001 3" paring knife (the sets all have the cheaper regular paring knife -- it's kind of fun to have both a granton santoku and matching paring knife!); and of course my favourite #4473-26 10" honing steel (the sets always come with smaller steels which aren't as nice to use as the longer and larger diameter 10" model).

An awesome set at a GREAT price that I'm very pleased to offer you! This makes the perfect starter set with all first class items that are NOT compromises like the block sets manufacturers usually offer for sale. Definitely appropriate for both home and professional/culinary student use.
