U-Select
The Next Generation of manual mechanisms! A truly fantastic evolution of the superb classic Peugeot mechanism, featuring the same quality and operation, but in an easy-to-adjust turn-and-click adjust style. Just turn the bottom ring to adjust the grind! 6-levels for pepper, 3 for salt. This works REALLY, REALLY well... great for those of you who don't like fiddling with the top screw on the old-style manual mechanisms. Not only does it do away with the sometimes frustrating "loose top" syndrome of the manual mills (especially if you've it it really loose to get a coarse grind), because the setting is independent of the top/bottom assembly, so you can get a reliable coarse grind much easier (and coarser) than you can with the manual models. For those of you who like coarse ground pepper, a U-Select mechanism might be a good choice. I use a manual at home because I like a fine grind and because I'm cheap, but when I give gifts, I usually give a U-Select because they're so cool and they work so well.
