Very nice standard paring knife. Super handy to have around for those paring/slicing/dicing jobs, such as small fruit, veggies, garlic, ginger, etc. These are excellent knives, AND they're an excellent value! Fit and finish are superb, they're beautiful, have VERY sharp and well-finished edges, and the shapes and sizes are "standard" and useful. Handles are made of micarta, which is a beautiful, hard, comfortable, rugged and long-lasting material made of linen bonded with waterproof resins -- you have to see it to appreciate how beautiful it is! The handle shapes are also comfortably rounded without being overly curvy or so-called "ergonomic". The blades are made of the very popular VG10 stainless steel which is an ideal knife-making metal as it is hard enough (HRC61) to take and hold an edge very well, and yet it is still reasonably easy to maintain (it's not overly hard -- harder is NOT always better and yes, it IS possible to overboard in this regard!).

I'd recommend the fine ceramic hone (see below) for regular/daily maintenance of the edge. As with any knife, use the hone regularly and you'll keep the edge in good shape for a LONG time before you need to think about doing any serious "re-sharpening" or real grinding and refinishing of the edge. NOTE: These knives have a slight bias toward the right side (they're sharpened a bit more on the right side), but it's really quite slight, so they really should work just fine for right or left-hand use -- I doubt a lefty would notice any difference in performance, and if you work both sides in your honing/sharpening, it won't take long for it to take on a completely 50/50 edge of course.
