Rugged cordura (nylon) case with hard sides, for better protection and storage capacity. Excellent for culinary students or professionals. An excellent design featuring tons of interior storage with 17 slots, and an interior separate zippered compartment to hold 9 of the knives very securely in their slots, an outside zippered compartment, another internal zippered mesh bag, and more internal slots for flat cards/accessories and places to put stem thermometers and other such items. A true professional-level case. Once again, just a bit of confusion regarding the number of slots... some catalogues and Wusthof material calls it 17-slot, some call it a 18-slot -- either way, it's the same case, and there are really pockets for 17 knives.
