Wenger is proud to introduce the new Mike Horn Ranger, developed in partnership with the world renowned explorer, adventurer and extreme athlete: Mike Horn. During his expeditions across the world over the last 16 years, this native of South Africa, who has lived in Switzerland since 1994, has pushed the limits of physical and mental boundaries and achieved missions many people considered impossible, some of which include:
- An 18-month manpowered circumnavigation of the world around the equator
- A 2,000km/27-month solo circumnavigation of the Arctic Circle without motorized or dog transportation
- A 6-month solo crossing of the South American continent, from the Pacific to the Atlantic Ocean swimming the entire length of the Amazon.

A relationship between Mike Horn and Wenger was born. The Mike Horn NewRanger v1.2 model is a compact tool box. It was specifically developed to help him cope with all the extraordinary and extreme situations encountered during his expeditions.

The Mike Horn knife includes a large range of tools such as a combination metal saw/file, and a reamer which enables him to punch holes through wood. Mike also requested that the knife be fitted with two different blades (a standard blade, and a serrated edge blade with blunt tip) which were easy to open, even with gloves or a single hand. The 100% foldable needle nose pliers enable him to work precisely while saving energy thanks to the lever arm mechanism. During his expedition, Mike Horn needs to trust his tools, which must satisfy his specific needs and environmental concerns. Mike challenged Wenger to meets these needs by developing innovative solutions. That is why Wenger has created 100% recyclable handles. Partly made of wood, the handles are as solid as they are environmental-friendly.
