Salter digital kitchen scale, 5 Kg Capacity

This is my dream scale (hey, I have my dreams, you have yours, okay?!?). Here's why: it has a large 5 Kg (11-pound) capacity (most others stocked in kitchen stores only have a 2 Kg capacity -- much too small for even a double-batch of bread dough). And it's accurate to 1 gram (1/8-ounce) for the WHOLE range! This is very rare -- most scales over 2 Kg are only accurate to 2 or even 5 grams (which is not good for ingredients like yeast or spices requiring accuracy). It's easy to switch between pounds/ounces and kg/grams. The tare/zero function works great: put your container on the platform, hit the button, and it zeroes out AND remembers the weight of the container, so you can then REMOVE the container, fill it, return it to the platform and you'll be shown ONLY the weight of the ingredients added -- VERY handy so you don't have to worry about bumping or removing it while adding a series of ingredients (the cheaper smaller-capacity digital scales by Salter that you see at other stores do NOT have this nice tare feature -- they instantly "forget" the weight of the bowl if you've tared it and then remove the bowl). Hit the button again and it'll reset itself to zero (so you have a nice "add-and-weigh" functionality). The auto-shutoff is longer than other models (a full minute), so no more running to get the next ingredient to avoid resetting to zero. It also has a manual off button so you can maximize battery life by simply shutting it off when you're done (and don't worry, the batteries last a LONG time). The stainless steel platform removes easily for washing, and the front panel is sealed, so food can't get into the buttons. 10-year guarantee. Batteries included.
