These are amazing devices! Basically, it's a grill and broiler all in one. The grill top is supsended above the element, which is also suspended above the slots (under the grill) where you put the little spatulas. So use the grill top to keep items warm or to grill them, while you put your raclette cheese (on top of whatever else the recipe might call for) and then just slide it under the element to melt/broil the cheese. Easy, fun and healthy! Makes for a really fun and easy party and family meal. And you can also simply use it as a really high quality grill if you like. The Classic model has a reversible grill top so you can flip it over and use it as a crepe maker!
