Handmade knife from the workshop of master craftsman Jacques Mongin of France. Mongin calls this a 12cm knife -- in fact the closed knife is 12cm long. The blade is 9cm long, and the open knife is 22cm long. This is really a piece of art. The handle is worked from a solid piece of gorgeous black water buffalo horn, with a subtle and 3D-look of grey and white lines/texture. It's hard to explain the look of the handle, but it's really something to see! I tried to capture it as best I could in the photos, but trust me, it's even better looking in real life. The blade is super-polished (like a mirror!) Sandvik stainless steel, with a superbly ground sharp blade. The closing mechanism is a spring (it's what the metal shape is on top of the knife) with a simple, VERY strong and effective locking mechanism activated (to close the knife once it is locked open) by pulling on the loop ring attached to the top of the mechanism (it's a classic Mongin design). Comes with a soft leather stitched slip case, also embossed with the J Mongin logo. Makes a truly incredible one-of-a-kind gift! Of course a lifetime warranty is standard.
